What brings them together, and to our program, is the motivation to succeed, to support their families, and to leave negative influences behind. We’re committed to making that dream a reality for each and every participant.
I often say that Growing Home runs 40 job training programs a year, instead of just one, because we tailor the experience to serve each individual’s unique needs.
We do that by keeping a low participant-to-staff ratio and by offering a wide variety of supportive services. Our staff build personal relationships with individuals, relationships rooted in trust and respect, so that we can surround participants with encouragement and support from multiple coaches and supervisors.
The effects of our intensive training model are difficult to measure, but I know they’re extraordinary when I hear our participants speak about their transformations at graduation ceremonies, when I visit graduates at their new jobs and receive praise from their supervisors, and when I listen to graduates giving advice and encouragement to a new set of participants.
